créer des liens d'amitié entre groupements et entre sociétés adhérentes ; faciliter aux dirigeants et sociétaires les moyens de se connaître, de s'estimer et de s'aider mutuellement pour la défense de tous leurs intérêts communs ; défendre et soutenir la réputation des sociétés musicales ; encourager par tous les moyens l'étude du solfège, des instruments et du chant à l'école et dans les sociétés ; favoriser les réunions des sociétés entre elles et organiser des auditions en commun ; coordonner toutes les manifestations musicales du département en particulier établir le calendrier de l'union départementale ; mettre à l'étude et résoudre toutes les questions intéressant les groupements et sociétés faisant partie de l'association
