Historique :
L'ancien prieuré de Mouzeuil, fondé en 1050, dépendait de l'abbaye de Maillezais. Eglise à nef unique, édifiée dans le courant du 12e siècle, dont le choeur a été remanié à l'époque gothique. L'église, mise à sac par les Calvinistes en 1562 et 1567, n'est restaurée qu'en 1758 (voûte en briques) , puis en 1842 par l'architecte Lévêque et en 1871 par l'architecte Loué. Depuis la Révolution, l'église et le prieuré sont séparés.Classement monument historique :
